I have a number of Applications which communicate by Wimp_SendMessage.

What range of message numbers should I be using?

(I am currently using 1001 to 1099, which appear to work OK)

I think it would be best to ask RISCOS Ltd which message numbers are safe to use.

If it was me I would add some extra error checking and handshaking so that each of your apps can be 100% sure that the received message block is "genuine" and hasn't accidentally come from another app. If you wanted to go really mad you could always check the identity of the transmitting task to ensure that it has the
correct task name. If it doesn't then just ignore the block.

That way it should avoid any possible unwanted interactions.

Fair Point - I was hoping somebody here might know.

Sort of do that.

Highly unlikely be be any unknown tasks running in my environment, in any case.
