Looking at the way XP folders are arranged out of the box, there's drive C with xp apps in it, drive D for data, and HardDisc4 for VRPC apps/data.

I want to share my data files among XP, VRPC, and a networked Iyonix. And maybe Ubuntu.

So would I:
1. Make drive D shared and just put all my stuff on that?

2. Retain HardDisc4 with VRPC stuff and keep my XP data there too?
Praps use D for ubuntu.

Does this sound like I'm confuzed?

Yes.

I suspect that your Drive C and Drive D are actually the same drive - but partitioned. This is very common. Indeed there may well be a third hidden "recovery" partition, which will have an ISO of a recovery CD/DVD in it. So before doing anything make sure that, if, you have an app on the Windows desktop designed to make a recovery disc that you run it and burn the disc.

I normally advise users to leave VRPC inside Program Files and not to make changes unless you are absolutely sure what you are doing.

If your "Drive D" is empty then you might be able to install Ubuntu to it - but if it was me I would buy a second hard disc.
