This was mentioned in the mac forum, but a solution was either a bit OTT (re-install VA and grab the extensions.txt file), or unstated ('all fixed after some help').

I moved some apps from my Iyonix over to VA and after some the apps didn't start (merely opened the !Boot file in Edit), I found that many of the obey files inside the apps were filetyped txt.

Searching here I found only one discussion, over on the mac forum. This led me to a file inside windows called extensions.txt. Mine also lacks any real data, so I'd like to know a way to get the full extensions.txt file without re-installing VA.

How does one write in the data?

all it says in the file is;

--------------------------
# Mappings from RISC OS extensions to Windows extensions
# The first Windows extension is the default when creating
# new files from RISC OS

Type Extensions

--------------------------

Thanks
Brian

There's a replacement Extension file and installation instructions on http://www.virtualacorn.co.uk/dloadpage/betautil.htm

Thanks, Mike.
That's the one.

Now why would my file be stripped of its data?
And if that file was corrupted does it indicate others may also be?

However, I'm still getting filetype irregularity.

I'll try to recall all that I did.

On the Iyonix I put POPStar and NewsHound on a memory card, stated up VA on the eeepc, accessed the card in VA, copied.

All the files are text type.

Use !SparkFS and create zip files on the memory card
