Hi
I have Windows 7 Ultimate running VirtualRPC-AdjustSA with the UAC off.
VRPC will not run with CD-Rom support enabled. The error in the event log is below;

Faulting application name: VirtualRPC-AdjustSA.exe, version: 1.6.0.0, time stamp: 0x45799d29
Faulting module name: atapicd.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x3fba70a3
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00001750
Faulting process id: 0x15bc
Faulting application start time: 0x01ca5c17d5041450
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\VirtualAcorn\VirtualRPC-AdjustSA\VirtualRPC-AdjustSA.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\VirtualAcorn\VirtualRPC-AdjustSA\Plugins\atapicd\atapicd.dll
Report Id: 15a054b0-c80b-11de-9f07-005056c00008

If I transfer the atapicd.dll into a plugins disabled directory (not run on start up), VRPC will function.

My Windows Machine has a SATA DVD/Writer.

Any ideas on how to get the CD Rom / DVD player working in VRPC?

Thanks
Scott

Your optical drive is not Atapi compatable :-(

If this is a desktop machine you could see if the machine has a "normal" IDE socket on the mboard - if so (and you have the room) you could add a cheap IDE optical drive and then come back for help re-confoguring VRPC (if necessary).

If this isn't possible then you will be able to access CDs in DOS mode by making a HostFS mount that points to the drive letter of the drive, e.g.:

Path : D:\.
Mount : CDRom

(Note the trailing full stop). See the VirtualAcorn user guide for info on making a new HostFS mount.

Thank you Aaron
I will check the Decktop for the IDE connector and purchase a CDRom/DVD for the spare socket if its available
Cheers
Scott
