I've just re-subscribed to the Select scheme and have received the latest version of the CD. Before I go ahead and install the upgrade, I just want to make sure that there are no unexpected side effects lurking in the undergrowth.
I will make new backups of my data and Boot. A question arises, should I copy Boot or just rename it? I seem to remember when VirtualRPC first came out that there were elements of it which didn't like being copied. Does this still apply or, as is so often the case, have I got things all wrong.
Any helpful words of advice will be gratefully received. Thanks,
John

The RISC OS 6 installer will make a copy of your Boot sequence as part of the install process.
For peice of mind you might want to back up your entire VRPC installtion from the Windows side. If you have a DWD writer then you can just copy the entireity of:
C:\Program Files\VirtualAcorn\VirtualRPC-xxx
to a DVD - if using a CD then you need to zip up a copy first.
Also before installing RISC OS 6 make sure your VRPC is up to date with all the upgrades (without them RISC OS 6 might not work). Upgrades can be found in the downloads section of the main VirtualAcorn website.
