Hi,
Is it possible to access RISC OS (in a networking sense) from Windows? For instance, if you were running a web server on RISC OS, could you see it from Windows or, specifically, if a syslog daemon is running on RISC OS, can you send it messages?
Cheers,
Adam

VirtualAcorn is a Windows program. It takes it's network settings from Windows itself. It doesn't have a "Virtual" Network Adapter so the Pc and the VirtualAcorn share the same IP Address, Netmask etc.
Also any port that is currently being used by another Windows service will not be available. So the short answer is - go and try it, but I really don't think it will work.

Well... WebJames works - just type localhost in a Windows browser. :)
I've not got the syslog thing working though :(

I assume that WebJames is working as Windows isn't running a web server itself. Or to put it another way, the only web server that'a running is the one on VirtualAcorn - so that's what gets seen. Anyway I am pleased it works :-)
