I am running VRPC-SA 1.6 in StrongARM mode with RISC OS 6.10 (Select 4i4) soft loaded, and the default single user boot sequence.

  • The Video section in !Configure only shows a VIDC driver.
  • No modes can be selected which use any more than the standard VIDC 2MB VRAM.

How do you gain access to the RO6.10 VRPC video drivers which is claimed to allow 8MB of VRAM :?:

Which processor are you using?
How much VRAM is allocated for each model file (Arm7 and SA only)?

The SA model.cfg was set to 2MB, changing it to 8MB allowed the use expected use of modes.

Thanks for that pointer, but you could have mentioned it when the issue was brought up on the virtual-acorn mailing list a few months ago.

Glad that's fixed it.

I have actually been trying to work out what on earth could be causing the problem as (from memory) yours was the only install with this problem. It only occured to me a couple of days ago that you might have a very old model file in place with the old settings limiting the VRAM to 2Mb. As such it would have been difficult for me to offer an explantion some months ago.

Yes that was probably the cause. Sorry I shouldn't grumble, thanks again sorting it out.

That's OK. The only reason the possibility of a 2Mb VRAM limit being set was because we've been playing aroud with VRAM settings in a couple of test builds.
