I just upgrades from VRPC-SE to VRPC-SA. On the SE-version I had configured two harddiscs, one for booting which contains all the VRPC stuff, and a second one for all my applications and files.
Now on the SA version I would like to add the second hard disc. In principle it worked ok and I have access to the disc. The only problem is that it has file extensions om, so that I get file names like "!Run/oby". I tried to set the "Show DOS extensions" option on or off but still the file names do not change. In the manual I found the advice that there is a tool to convert the old into the new format - but I do not know where to find this tool.
Thank you very much,
Michael Gerbracht

Sorry for replying to myself but I solved the problem by installing RISC OS 6. Now I can access the hard drive without DOS extensions. Still it might be usefull to know where the conversion tool is.

The relevant utilities should be in !Boot.Utils - however they are run entirely at the users own risc as it's very unlikely that they will ever be needed. I put them in the builds ages ago - in order to help resolve some
expected tech support issues that simply never turned up.
So - the official advice is to take a backup of your VRPC (from Windows) before using any of these - and also to only use them if you have a specific problem and have been advised to use them by VirtualAcorn.
